i'm definitely an analysis-paralysist... or whatever.
:P
so it's true i haven't posted on ishthink. i've looked around there a lil, but i'm not sure what i want yet, and i think that's my biggest challenge for the next couple of years, will be figuring out how to put 2 and 2 together, daniel quinn's revelations about how absurdly unlikely our culture is, and david d's about how completely normal we are, from an "ethological" perspective.
i kinda wanna "snap my fingers" and have a bunch of personal success start "happening" to me,
but of course by making success for many others.
i want to become useful to people by helping lots and lots of people to rewild their mating dance,
by teaching them how to rewild their thinking in general,
which will hopefully thus rewild and reDIVERSIFY our monolithic megaculture.
basically, my current strategy is to use marketing principles and mentours to become "cool" and "popular" so that i can effectively trick people into thinking differently.
it's become my thesis that no-one wants to really think differently about the world. really, the only "susceptible" minds to change are those belonging to individuals and groups who wish to change themselves, ya know?
so ishmael and anything directly related to it actually only appeals to people who have already decided that changing the world or thinking out of the proverbial box is going to help them save themselves and have a different life, or a mission or a purpose or something to live for.
and david deangelo and anything related to that stuff is only going to appeal to people who've also already decided, or "seen" that something specific is holding them back from what dr. paul calls "durable fulfillment."
in other words, david d (and his affiliates Christian Carter and Rori Raye) produce materials that, i'm thinking, probably only work when the individual making use of them is ready to commit themselves to becoming more attractive human beings in order to attract satisfactory mates, or even an ideal singular "mate."
that said, i have no idea as yet how to begin MY mission.
and that is because i have no idea as yet how to appeal to the masses of people who are still "happy" enough with things as they are.
in my personal work of day-to-day "cold-approaches," i haven't found any really compelling results from selling either quinnian or deangeloian ideas/methods.
everyone wants it, few are ready to admit that they REALLY want change. few seem prepaired to believe that truely new views of ANYTHING are existant, or even possible.
so far my work has lead me to the Christian community: possibly tens of millions of people(s) already living in a sort of cultural isolation from everyone around them.
of course, here, i'm speaking of what i'll call "community christians," those who i would describe as involved.
i think that's the largest demographic prepped and ready to evangelize the world, especially the first world, and most especially the united states.
i'll open a blog and post this particular email to you that you're reading right now (and i won't post any of your words/name/info, don't worry :), and see if i get any hits.
but yeah: i believe that christians just might be the largest extant group of people already committed, and fairly practiced at, changing the minds of those around them for the sake of humanity.
and i certainly believe their hearts are in the right places.
please forgive the ramblinosity of this email:
you have truly become a mentor to me.
